Polar bearsThe polar bear is also known as 'the king of the north'. An average male weighs up to 500 kg. The average female weighs about 250 kg. The polar bear is mostly carnivorous, mainly feeding on seals. The major threat to the polar bear is climate change. The ice is the habitat of the polar bears. It is the place where they can hunt. If the temperatures rise, the ice will melt and the polar bears will not have any place to live anymore. Other threats include pollution, poaching, and industrial disturbances. Therefor, the polar bear has the conservation status "vulnarable".
